Roger's Birthday

Well tonight was Roger's 21st birthday and he can actually come here without his mom if he wants to.
As you can see we did a good job on him...

ahhhh, such sweet satisfaction. we have been in the "summer" pool league in Beloit for several years and never won the darn thing.
this year all that changed...

we played the "moody blue", kind of a sister bar that we have always gotten along with well.

one of our alumni sadly passed away recently.
his name was John Juno and he was a bud all the way.

he worked for years at Hormel, a crappy place to work for sure but pays pretty good for around here... but thats another post.

He worked 2nd shift and could never play in the local pool leagues. so we started our own in house league for people like him.

one time a year or so ago he won it, with a guy named mike welch.

rest in peace buddy, we'll play some pool when i catch up with you again.

The Best Dog Ever

My dog Brian, has decided to take me to "dog training " classes. I quickly found out dogs already are trained. It is us humans who need to be trained to have our animals behave the way we want them to.

Brain

One of our wilder "alumni" is Brian, who i sometimes call Brain. I should really start a whole different blog just about him. It would be huge. Sadly he was recently diagnosed with cancer. He is currently undergoing radiation. Our thoughts are with him as he battles. Here are a couple pics that capture him completely.

Ghost

I mentioned in the previous post that the Alumni House has a ghost. His name is George, and he used to own this place. He is pretty cool. He dosn't do much malicious stuff. Although when ever Tee and me take a vacation, he gets mad and will do a few things to let us know!

old school

My bar has a lot of history. In fact we even have a resident ghost. Back in the 60's it was a burger and coke joint, teen club. Over the decade a lot of famous bands played here. One that i find very interesting was a band called "Ronnie Dio and the Prophets".

Yep, that Ronnie James Dio. I have never heard anything by them, and would love to hear something if anyone has any recordings by them.
